Founder & Managing Partner, Tailwind Infrastructure Solutions

Hanger Build

Who I am

I’m Will Harton, founder of Tailwind Infrastructure Solutions, where we address one of general aviation’s most persistent challenges: the shortage of hangar space. Our build-to-suit model helps FBOs, airport sponsors, charter operators, and MROs expand their capacity without tying up capital or giving up control of their leaseholds.

With more than 20 years of experience across general aviation, real estate, and strategic development, I’ve built my career at the intersection of M&A, infrastructure, and growth strategy—always with the goal of delivering long-term value for operators, investors, and communities.

My Journey

I launched Tailwind Infrastructure Solutions in 2025 to solve the friction I’ve witnessed firsthand in aviation growth. Too often, infrastructure limitations—especially financing—hold operators back. Tailwind exists to remove those barriers strategically, efficiently, and at scale. Before founding Tailwind, I led strategic growth and M&A initiatives across multiple sectors. As CEO of Etto Leisure Cars (2022–2024), I built financial and operational frameworks to scale and strengthened investor and vendor relationships in the emerging micromobility sector. At Hawthorne Global Aviation Services (2011–2022), I directed more than $200M in acquisitions and development projects, structured investment strategies, and cultivated a performance-driven culture that fueled growth. Earlier, as Vice President at Hawthorne Corporation (2006–2011), I worked closely with the CEO on international strategy for major sponsors like the Carlyle Group and executed a financial sponsorship agreement that positioned the business for long-term scalability. My career began at Marsh (2002–2006), where I negotiated complex insurance programs for Fortune 500 clients and built key international market relationships—laying the financial and strategic foundation that informs my work today.

Recognition & Legacy

Named to Aviation Pros’ “40 Under 40” in 2015 for leadership and impact, I’m proud to continue a third-generation legacy in general aviation—building and scaling businesses that strengthen the industry’s infrastructure. My experience spans private equity, family office partnerships, corporate governance, and infrastructure development, blending capital strategy with operational insight. A Duke University graduate with a B.A. in History, I’ve spent my career combining strategic thinking with real-world execution to unlock sustainable aviation growth. Beyond business, I value time with my family and mentoring the next generation of aviation and infrastructure leaders.
